Following “Southpaw”‘s strong performance at the box office, Jake Gyllenhaal looks to have his eye on another underdog tale, this time following the tragic events of the Boston Marathon bombing. David Gordon Green To Direct Boston Marathon Bombing Film ‘Stronger’ From Client John Pollono’s script

David Gordon Green has signed on to direct Stronger, a Boston Marathon bombing movie project set up at Lionsgate. While there are multiple Boston Marathon bombing projects in the works from several studios, this one focuses on Jeff Bauman, a survivor who lost both his legs in the attack. Bauman was waiting for his girlfriend at the finish line of the annual marathon when two pressure cooker bombs exploded, killing three people and injuring more than 260 others. He chronicled his experience being a key witness in the trial of bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and his attempts at rehab in a book titled Stronger, co-written by Bret Witter. John Pollono and Scott Silver wrote the script. David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman of Mandeville Films/TV are producing along with Silver. The trio worked together on David O. Russell’s The Fighter, and were rewarded with Oscar nominations. Stronger is yet more evidence of Green’s desire to defy genre classification for his work. He directed a coming-of-age drama in George Washington, then segued into edgy comedies such as Pineapple Express and Your Highness. He helmed indie Manglehorn, featuring an aging Al Pacino, and recently wrapped production on Our Brand Is Crisis, Warner Bros.’ political dramedy starring … Read More

Client Josh Ostrovsky Signs Fashion Model Deal

Josh Ostrovsky, aka The Fat Jewish, may have more than 5 million Instagram followers with his hilarious @TheFatJewish account, but he’s transferring some of his talents from mobile platforms into bona fide modeling. The 30-year-old just signed with One Management agency — home to Bar Refaeli and Karolina Kurkova — to launch a career phase that already includes TV projects (with Amazon and Comedy Central), a book deal (Money Pizza Respect) and a wine line called White Girl Rosé. He tells THR that his goal is to “get uncomfortably famous, develop a raging drug problem, then spiral out of control and surround myself with people who only want to use me while simultaneously alienating people who actually love and care about me.” We’d throw down cold hard cash on a bet that his new reps at One Management love and care about him and his fledgling modeling career. As for things we adore? The answers Ostrovsky provided in a hilarious chat session about his new career as a model (“YASSSSSS KWEEEEEN!”), what that means for his body (Hot Pockets!), a dream fashion co-star (Suri Cruise!) and whether he plans to act (“pornographic movies, for sure”). We’re not kidding, but he might be. … Read More
